I have been really busy the past month. I have several custom orders to work on before Christmas. The Winter Springs Festival of the Arts went really well!! I've been working on new pieces to replace the ones that sold at there. I needed to make more for this weekend's Lake Mary - Heathrow's Festival of the Arts. Come see me - I'll be at Booth# 135.
My Sandhill Cranes mosaic was in our local newspaper - Orlando Sentinel Calendar Section - Oct.28, 2011, in a section for this weekend's art festival. I was a Featured Artist!
A few weeks ago mosaic artist Eve Lynch - of Kraken Mosaics - put out a call to artist to help with a donation project for Calusa Nature Center in Fort Meyers, FL. She asked us to create mosaic butterflies. It's been really cool to see all the butterflies created and how many people donated multiple butterflies for this project. They came from all over the world. The further one is from Australia. I am really happy to be part of this project and I can't wait to visit it!
Check out the blog documenting the progress and artwork
received for this project at The Butterfly Project. There's a
list of contributing artist on the right - you can view
every single butterfly by click on each artist.
Here's the four that I created.
Froggerfly - 3.25" x 3.75"
Flower Power Butterfly - 4.5" x 3"
Swallow tail Butterfly - 5.5" x 7"
Ballerina Butterfly - 4" x 3.5"
My sister, Darlene Tsen, wanted to creat one too!!
7.5" x 5.5"

The Mustard Seed's Chair 4 Charity was a HUGE success. They raised enough money to help 54 families. My chair "Sunday Morning" was the 3rd highest bidding chair. It brought $800.00 and 2 of my very good friends ended up being the highest bidders. So I will get to visit my chair as often as I would like.

The video/slideshow is finished. The Making of "Sunday Morning"....
As I was creating this chair, I set up my camera and had it take a picture every minute. There's over 1500 pictures that make up this short video.
The chair I created for Chairs 4 Charity will be auctioned off at their event May 7, 2011. Some of the chairs will be in the silent auction and the TOP 10 faves will get to be in the LIVE auction. So here's where I need your HELP!! Please vote for my chair - It's no. 1 on their list. All you have to vote yes to 3 and no to all the others to make your vote count. You can vote as many times as you would like. THANK YOU!!
About 2 months ago I got an email from The Mustard Seed
asking if I would be one of the 25 artist to take
a chair from their warehouse and restyle
into
a piece of art. The chairs will be auctioned off
at the Chairs 4 Charity event May 7, 2011.
Here's what I came up with.
I've had a change in artistic direction.
Something I have loved for a long time- MOSAICS.
I created a few mosaics here and there. Pieces for myself - Gifts for friends. But I never thought about going in that direction artistically. About 4 months ago I went on to flickr and searched mosaics. I came across a mosaic artist that was hosting an online ATC(Artist Trading Card) Swap. She even set up a blog for it - MosaicSwap.com. This was the beginning of my new direction. I enjoyed creating the little 2.5" X 3.5" mosaics and I had a lot of good responses. So I made a few ornaments and listed them on etsy.com. I sold several on etsy and a lot more to friends and family. I even had a good friend of mine's husband ask me to create a piece for his wife -
the St. Augustine Lighthouse. I'm not totally quitting photography. That is something I will always do. But my main focus now is mosaics.
MY LATEST PROJECT......
I've just been invited to particapate in a charity event for
The Mustard Seed. They have ask 25 local artist get a used chair from their warehouse and turn it into a masterpiece. These chairs will be auctioned off at the Chairs 4 Charity event May 7,2011. So I will be really busy working on this chair. To watch my progress Like me on Facebook or become a contact on flickr.
You can also see them on all the pages
along the
top of my website.

So an artist friend asked a bunch of us artist to help put together a book that all the profit would go to her friend, Cherie Stannard, 42-year old accident victim suffering paralysis from the shoulders down as of September 30, 2010.
Just got back from Salt Lake City, Utah. This trip was more of a family trip then a photography trip. But ofcourse while I was there I took a ton of photos. We saw the Bonneville Salt Flats - that was really cool. Basically looked like a desert covered in snow. We went to Antelope Island. This is an island in the Salt Lake. Even thought it's called Antelope Island, we only saw 1 antelope. HHAHA. We saw Thanksgiving Point Botanical Gardens. A very LARGE and well kept garden. Lots of cool things to see there. And my fave place for last - Zion National Park. I could've stayied there for a week easily. There are so many different hikes to go on throughout the park. It was so amazing and beautiful.

I just got back from Las Vegas and San Diego. You wouldn't think there's much to take photos of in Las Vegas. There was a really nice garden called the Spring Preserve that I visited. There was a lot of really cool cacti. Here's some new photos from that trip.
In the process of redesigning my website. Most of links aren't working right now. If you would like to see my work - click here -

Back from Hawaii with a ton of new photographs....
I had a great time visiting all the different botanical gardens on the island of Oahu and seeing so many new types of flowers and plants. It was cool to see so many species of the same plants that we have here in Florida, but the funny thing was how many of them I never knew flowered or knew they could grow that big. I took over 3000 photographs while I was there. I then narrowed it down to a little over a 1000, some were just snap shots to record my time there. Click here to see those photographs. You can see the ones that I choose in my portfolio.
